Tjugo-tjugo...
... is Swedish for Twenty-Twenty -
and it was my Swedish dealer, Berry Rommedahl, who first suggested the idea of doing small flower pictures whenever I was working on other things.
All these pictures are on canvases 20x20cms format and are made as a sequence while I am in the studio working on much bigger projects. Hence their sense of relief and unconstrained joy.
The sequences started in 2001 and have happened ever since. Their great day was as the basis of the décor of the Paris shoe-shop, on another page: au Bonheur du Pied...
