Crossing Australia by Train The Indian Pacific - formerly known as the East-West, now run by the Great Southern Railway, crosses Australia between Perth and Sydney, by way of Adelaide. I boarded in Perth to reach Adelaide two days later; then, after enjoying Adelaide for ten days or more, for the installation and partying of the exhibition at the Greenhill Galleries, took the last stage, twenty-four hours, to Sydney.
