How to find

Domaine Grand Cros,

83660 Carnoules, Var

click on this exciting satelite map for guidance

Grand Cros web site:  www.grandcros.fr

Carnoules is more or less north of Hyères...

and the Domaine Grand Cros is on the D19, 3kms north of Carnoules and 7kms south of Besse-sur-Issole, on the east side of the road...

The gates are at the crest of a hill on a slight corner, so, take care when turning off, especially coming from the north.

T r i a n g u l a t i o n :

If coming by the A8 autoroute from the west, come off at Brignoles; if from the east, come off at Le Luc.

If taking the N7 for old times' sakes, leave the N7 at the messy depôt type of round-about just west of Flassans and follow "Besse-sur-Issole".  There is a by-pass that circuits Besse and at the third round-about you take the third exit, signposted Carnoules.

If coming from Hyères or Toulon to the south, come off the A57 autoroute at Cuers.

If coming from the Var Profond, such as Correns, Carcès, Entrecasteaux, Lorgues or Draguignan &c &c, head south for the N7 then east or west accordingly, to find the Flassans round-about...

If coming from the coast, you'll know your preferred country-way...

Helicopters may be received with advance notice.

Light aircraft will wish to use the aerodrome at Cuers, for technical details of which:

Otherwise there are aeroports at La Môle St.Tropez and Hyères respectively:

http://www.aeroport.fr/les-aeroports-de-l-uaf/toulon-hyeres.php

and that the commercial use of the name "St.Tropez" in a description of the aeroport "Toulon-Hyères" is a distortion.

DMU anoraks will wish to know that there is a Fauvet Girel locotracteur local passenger train unit, dating from 1953, with a Poyaud 6 cylinder engine, if m'old eyes don't deceive me, that runs from Carnoules les Platanes (a pretty spot between Grand Cros and Carnoules) to Brignoles and back; it's one of those cream-&-red units with the driver's cab raised to one side like a postillon, big generous windows that open and plumfy passenger seats in brown plastic.

The service continues in October and the chap who knows is on 06.07.98.03.09...
