KEY TO THE DAY TRIP JOURNEY
The day begins down at Circular Quay, with the big
bridge beyond
and the Opera House to the right:
In the yonder you sense that the Blue Mountains
keep the town snug against the sea. As the ferry sets off you retrace the
morning's journey that brought you by Hyde Park's erruptive trees and St.Mary's
and the sweeping road by Rushcutters' Bay
south of which lies Trumper Park with the steep bit up to The Lord Dudley
and Paddington in general:
Meantime, past bay after bay, we have reached Manly and the lure of the ocean:
where we linger; as we return from a day at the sands a sunset seems to light
upon Dover Heights
and bathes the whole city by the time we return to Circular Quay
and the sun a fading heap framed by the Bridge.
