GARDENS & VOLTAIRE

In the last line of his "Candide", Voltaire suggests we need to cultivate our own garden.  The phrase is simple enough but has caught on and no quotations dictionary can skip it.  The sentiment encourages us to cultivate, and suggests we keep ourselves to our own business.

all: graphite or ink on A4 or twice A4, done on the flight to London

Note: This "Vang" Sketchbook is in fact the same sketchbook as the one used for the work on Nietzsche's walk at Eze; the Nietzsche pages start at one end and the Voltaire at the other, and they are working their way to the middle... Make of that what you wish!
